WATCH: Netizens admire elderly man playing 'imaginary cricket'

(Web Desk) - Cricket, often referred to as the Gentlemen's Game, is popular in South Asian nations, particularly in Pakistan and India.

Undoubtedly, Pakistanis have a great deal of enthusiasm for the sport and are looking forward to the next Asia Cup and World Cup.

But what has lately amused cricket fans more is a touching video that went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, and increased the fervour among users on the social networking site. The video shows an elderly man's love for cricket.

An old man playing 'imaginary cricket' in the video pretends to strike a ball to a fictitious bowler. It's fun to see him act jubilant after happily 'hitting a six off a bouncer'.

Mehul Fanawala, a user on X, expressed his enthusiasm for the video in a post by using the heart emoji.

Although the location of the video is unclear, one X user noted that he believed it to be in Pakistan, maybe as a result of the man's wearing a shalwar kameez and the nearby roads and trucks.

Another X user, Sandeep Iyer, quipped: "That's a six in any ground."

The sport has long fascinated Dr Samrat Ghosh, who wrote about it. "I completely relate to it because I do this all the time in private."

One person quipped that "chacha (uncle)" should be informed that it was a yorker and that he had been fired.
