West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) President Julian Hunte said the regional women’s side’s domination of Pakistan in the just concluded one-day series augurs well for their participation in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.“Barring the hiccup in the third ODI, your team has demonstrated that it intends to be competitive not only against Pakistan, but importantly in the World Cup qualifiers in Bangladesh later this year,” Hunte wrote to team captain Merissa Aguilleira.West Indies Women are scheduled to play in group B of the ICC World Cup qualifiers later this year alongside Pakistan, Ireland, Japan and hosts Bangladesh.
