Pakistani hockey team welcomed upon return

Players and officials were given warm welcome at the Lahore and Peshawar airports.

The Pakistani teams returned after playing in the final of the 20th Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament that was played in Ipoh in Malaysia. On their way to the finals, Pakistan defeated their traditional rival India which was a consolation after Pakistan lost out to India in the Cricket World Cup.When the players arrived at the Peshawar airport they were given a grand welcome. Talking to the media, team manager Khawaja Junaid and Captain Muhammad Imran hailed the performance of the team. On the other hand, Pakistan Hockey Federation President Qasim Zia and Secretary Asif Bajwa arrived at the Lahore airport. They congratulated the team and also hailed their performance in the tournament.Pakistan was defeated by the defending champions Australia, making them the most successful team in the Azlan Shah Hockey tournament.
