Manchester United eased past Schalke in the Champions League semi-final first leg that looked like a mismatch with the Germans ripped to shreds in a one-sided game.Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney struck in a span of two minutes in the second half but the final score hardly reflects the difference in quality the two sides.Superior in all aspects of the game, United -- three-time winners of Europes top prize -- go into the return leg having terrorised the Germans for about an hour and having gained a huge psychological advantage.
