The International Cricket Council (ICC) chief executive officer Haroon Lorgat said that it was unfortunate to shift the Eden Gardens match between India and England to Banglore. In an email to Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya, Lorgat said: I am equally disappointed that the Eden Gardens couldnt host the match. But believe me, it was not within my power to change the technical committees decision. I intend to meet you soon to clear up the misunderstanding. Earlier, Dalmiya had written to the ICC CEO assuring him that the venue would be ready by February 7, the deadline set by the world body for the Eden Gardens to be ready for the three non-India matches to be played on March 15, 18 and 20.
