Chris Kamara was contacted by his channel during the game but he had no idea what was going on

LONDON: (Web Desk) – Today marks the 7th anniversary of one of the greatest blunders on TV by a reporter as it was this day in 2010 when Christopher Kamara had no idea during a match between Portsmouth and Blackburn, two English clubs.

As it happened, on April 3, 2010, Anthony Vanden Borre had been shown a red card during the match and Soccer AM had contacted its reported Christopher “Chris” Kamara, who was in the ground to report for the TV channel.

However, Kamara had literally no idea that there had been some issue on the field and one of the players had been sent off for a second bookable offence, in what appeared to be a controversial decision.

“I don’t know, Jeff, has he? I must have missed it. A red card?” he said, looking astonished at the question. The panel of experts and the show host laughed as Kamara said “I don’t know” again.

The show host told Kamara that ‘according to our sources, Anthony Vanden Borre has been sent for a second bookable offence. Get your fingers out and count the number of Portsmouth players on the field’. Kamara said, looking shocked still, that he had seen him go out but ‘I thought they were bringing a sub on’.

The hilarious moment is still a joy to watch and Soccer AM relived the fun as they uploaded the video on their Twitter account on Monday.
