PFF expresses deep grief over tragic demise of former employee Nayha Junaid

Nayha Junaid remained the administrator of PFF women's wing for two years.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Nayha Junaid, who lost her life along with her husband and 46 others in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane PK-661 crash was being recognized only as Junaid Jamshed’s wife, but less people know that she was also a former employ of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).

Nayha Junaid remained the administrator of PFF women’s wing for two years. She organized the participation of Pakistan women s national football team in South Asian Games for the first time.




Nayha was not a footballer herself, but she took care of federation funds for two years and organized all the tournaments from 2010 to 2012.



Nayha Junaid left the federation after tying the knot with Junaid Jamshed.

PFF still acknowledges Nayha Junaid’s work for the federation and has expressed deep grief over her sad and tragic demise.

The aircraft of a state-owned carrier with a spotty safety record, was en route from the border town of Chitral to Islamabad but lost contact with air traffic controllers about 20 minutes before it was due to land at 4:40 p.m.

The plane was carrying 42 passengers, five crew members and a ground engineer, airline officials said. Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that there were no survivors.
