Parties having 'religious' influences gave weapons to the people of KP, says Riaz Pirzada

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Cycle race on Tuesday has been organised in attempt to promote sports and better Pakistan’s soft image in the world.

The riders will race from the federal capital to Abbottabad. Inter-Provincial Coordination Minister Riaz Pirzada said that had the political parties armed youth with cycles instead of weapons, the situation would have been different.

The event has been organised by Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF), Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) government and the federation. At least 78 cyclists are participating in the event for promotion of sports and tourism.

The schedule of the race states that the riders will stay in Abbottabad for the night and will leave for Nathia Gali in the morning. While addressing a ceremony before cyclists set off, Pirzada said that KP has athletic talent in abundance. He said that poor man’s child, most of the times becomes a good player because he lacks any safety net and thus works hard.

He said that parties having ‘religious’ influences gave weapons to the people of KP.

Pirzada also said that the world did not give anything to Pakistan except terrorism. He vowed to forward a summary regarding betterment of PCF to the Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.

The concluding ceremony will be organised in Nathia Gali. The ceremony will be attended by Pirzada, Advisor to KP Chief Minister (CM) Amjad Afridi and KP Secretary for Sports and Tourism Azam Khan.
