World No 2 Rafael Nadal became the second man to win five or more French Open titles after beating Robin Soderling 6-4, 6-2,6-4 at Roland Garros. The Spaniard will usurp the top slot from the Swiss.Nadal brushed aside Jurgen Melzer 6-2 6-3 7-6. In the absence of Roger Federer, Nadal is the clear favourite to reclaim the French Open.Robin Soderling powered into his second successive French Open final after beating Tomas Berdych.Francesca Schiavone became the first Italian woman to win a grand slam after beating Samantha Stosur in the French Open final. The 29-year-old secured victory after beating 6-4 7-6.
