Football: Monaco sign Brazilian striker Carvalho on loan
The 22-year-old began his career with Brazilian club Fluminense.
MONACO (AFP) - French top flight club Monaco have agreed a loan deal to bring Brazilian striker Matheus Carvalho from Atletico Barra da Tijuca to the Louis II stadium, the club announced Saturday.
The 22-year-old began his career with Brazilian club Fluminense, before a loan spell with Joinville, and finally a brief spell with a third Brazilian club Atletico before agreeing a switch to Ligue 1.
Monaco also announced that their Spanish defender Borja Lopez is on the brink of joining La Liga club Deportivo La Coruna on loan, following a similar deal with Rayo Vallecano last season.
