Late penalty goal gives Force win over Highlanders
The win improved the Force's season record to three wins and a draw in 14 matches.
PERTH, Australia (AP) - New Zealand-born flyhalf Jayden Hayward s fourth penalty goal of the match with less than two minutes remaining gave the Western Force a 19-18 win over the Otago, New Zealand-based Highlanders in a match between the two lowest-placed teams in Super Rugby on Saturday.
The win improved the Force s season record to three wins and a draw in 14 matches. The Highlanders remained on the bottom of the standings with just one win in 12 matches.
South African-born flyhalf Sias Ebersohn scored the only try of the match for the Force. Colin Slade equaled Hayward s penalty goal count with four for the Highlanders.
