Sebastien Ogier closed in on victory at the Rally of Portugal after extending his lead on Saturday.
LOULE (AP) - Championship leader Sebastien Ogier closed in on victory at the Rally of Portugal after extending his advantage through the six stages on Saturday.
The French driver leads the race heading into Sunday's final four stages by 34.8 seconds over Volkswagen teammate Jari-Matti Latvala.
Daniel Sordo entered the day less than five seconds off Ogier's pace but retired in the morning after crashing his Citroen.
"I think I saved my tires better than the others," said Ogier. "It was a good day but tomorrow has two long stages so it's going to be tough as well."
Ogier leads the championship standings by 31 points after three of 13 rallies.
Mikko Hirvonen is in third at over a minute behind.
