National athlete Mubeen Akhtar passes away

National athletic champion Mubeen Akhtar passed away in Lahore on Thursday.

Mubeen Akhtar, a 21-year-old resident of Mughalpura area of Lahore sustained head injury after slipping from the staircase.She was shifted to hospital on Wednesday but she could not recover and died on Thursday.Mubeen’s funeral prayer was offered in Mughalpura and a large number of supports fans and Pakistan Athletic Federation president, Akram Sahi attended her funeral.According to the federation, Mubeen Akhtar’s death was a great loss to Pakistasn’s athletics.Mubeen Akkhtar had bagged gold medal recently in 100 and 200-metre races in the national championship.
