ISLAMABAD- While addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Interior Minister Ch.Nisar went ballistic on the opposition Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) leaders’ for using low tactics for political point scoring; stating that they should feel ashamed for they are the ones who left country in this whole mess.
He expressed disapproval of the strategy of shutting schools down, adding that instead of closing all schools, the security has to be improved, while as difficult as it sounds, it is the only way forward. Admitting that it is very hard to ensure the security of each and every school in the country, he said that we cannot give in to the terrorists’ strategy to scare us to not go on with our everyday businesses. The terrorists want to disrupt our normal lives and by closing schools we are giving them exactly what they want. He commended KPK government’s policy to not shut down schools, calling it a courageous message to the terrorists.
He announced that schools in federal capital will remain open and that he’ll ask other provinces to not shut down schools.
He urged that the nation must not wallow into the valley of despair. He stressed that we have to get rid of fear and despair; adding that the war against terrorism has to be fought on psychological grounds as well, terrorists want to send the message that they have managed to frighten a whole country, and in response we have to send the message of strength, unity and courage.
He reaffirmed government’s commitment to wipe out terrorism from the country, stating that are no good or bad militants anymore and the fight will continue until we are able to cleanse our land from all sorts of terrorist elements.
Ch.Nisar did not miss the chance to take a jab at media, saying that It scandalized his health issues and is responsible for creating panic in the country.
He said that security condition of the country has improved by and large which indicates that the government is progressing in the right direction. He urged that all political parties must be on the same page and support military forces in operation against terrorists; he added that we have a bigger enemy to fight and we should abstain from pulling each other’s legs for mere political point scoring.
Ch.Nisar reiterated that National Action Plan (NAP) is been implemented effectively and notable feats have been achieved, stating that there’s a clear decline in the number of terrorist attacks in the country compared to previous year. He said that terrorists are attacking soft targets out of frustration because they have been pushed against the wall and are very close to losing the war.
Earlier, opposition leader Khursheed Shah reprimanded Interior Minister for not condemning the attack on Bacha Khan University and for staying in the hide when country needed answers, Khursheed Shah went to the extent of demanding resignation of the Interior Minister.
