SC seeks report on SECP chiefs appointment

The court has ordered Finance Secretary to submit report regarding SECP chiefs appointment.

A three-member bench of the Supreme Court heard the case regarding Muhammad Ali’s appointment as Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan chairman.The apex court summoned the SECP chairman and Finance secretary to brief the court about the issue.Abdul wajjid Rana presented before the court and sought time, stating that he had resumed charge as Finance Secretary last week, therefore he is unable to explain the matter.The court granted 15 days to Finance Secretary to submit his reply and adjourned the case.
