US will release immediate funds for IDPs: Holbrooke
US will release immediate funds for the rehabilitation of IDPs, US Special Representative on Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Halbrook has said. Halbrook called on Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani and Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani in Islamabad on Wednesday. He assured that the next package of 160 million US dollars for the IDPs restoration would be released immediately. PM said that US drone attacks were causing difficulties in separating peaceful tribal and terrorists. He said that US should give more funds for the rehabilitation of affected areas. He said that US should also assure the provision of arms and equipment for the law enforcing agencies. US Ambassador N W Peterson, Pakistan Defense Minister Ahmad Mukhtar, State Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and MNA Sughra Imam were also present on the occasion.
