SAHIWAL (Dunya News) - Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that the entire world has recognized Pakistan’s efforts in Iran-US ceasefire, Dunya News reported.
Speaking to the media after meeting party workers in Sahiwal, Yousaf Raza Gilani said that like Pakistan, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should also play a role in the Iran-US ceasefire.
He emphasized the need for unity within the Muslim world, noting that while such unity has always been important, it is now more essential than ever.
He highlighted that platforms such as the OIC are playing their role, while the international community at large continues to recognise Pakistan’s constructive contributions.
He said that Pakistan has adopted a policy of complete neutrality in evolving regional situations, which has strengthened international confidence in the country as a credible and responsible actor, enabling it to play a constructive role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and United States.
He added that global powers, including the United States, as well as other world leaders, have acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s sincere and balanced efforts.
He said that Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, has consistently demonstrated restraint, patience, and maturity, even in the face of Indian aggression, and has always acted in accordance with international law, responding only in self-defence when required.
