Summary The minister described Pakistan-China friendship as a valuable legacy passed down through generations
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has connected the economies of Pakistan and China, while the newly launched China-Pakistan Information Corridor will strengthen mutual understanding and trust between the two nations.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the China-Pakistan Information Corridor in Islamabad, Tarar emphasised the growing importance of digital communication, media cooperation and information sharing in the modern era.
He said that in the digital age, connectivity was a source of strength and control over narratives was essential for national sovereignty. Nations that fail to tell their own stories risk having others shape their narratives, he added.
The minister described Pakistan-China friendship as a valuable legacy passed down through generations, stressing the responsibility to preserve and promote these ties among younger generations.
He said effective use of media, information exchange and digital platforms was increasingly important for further strengthening relations between the two countries.
Tarar noted that CPEC had transformed decades of goodwill between Pakistan and China into tangible development through energy projects and infrastructure improvements.
He explained that the first phase of CPEC connected the two countries through physical infrastructure, while the next phase would focus on bringing their people closer through greater communication and mutual understanding.
Under CPEC 2.0, he said, both countries aim to create new opportunities for development, employment, innovation and environmentally sustainable growth.
