ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided not to attend briefing on regional situation in the aftermath of US-Israel attacks on Iran at the Prime Minister House today (Wednesday).

A meeting of PTI’s political committee was held in Islamabad in which the current political situation in the country as well as the evolving regional and global situation came under discussion. A formal communiqué was issued after the meeting.

According to the statement, the committee strongly condemned what it described as aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, calling it a blatant violation of international law. It also expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of innocent civilians and more than 160 female students in the attacks.

Similarly, Fatiha was offered during the meeting for the martyred Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and for those who died during protests. The statement also strongly condemned state violence and the use of lethal force against peaceful protesters, and demanded a transparent investigation.

During the meeting, concern was expressed over the tense situation on Pakistan-Afghanistan borders.

The PTI political committee said that the party will not attend briefing at the PM House today until arrangements are made for a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan. Participation will be considered only after this demand is met.

The statement emphasized PTI’s insistence on the supremacy of the judiciary and the protection of all constitutional rights of Imran Khan. It also called for immediate facilitation of meetings between Imran Khan, his family, and his lawyers, and urged his prompt transfer to Shifa International Hospital. The party stressed that his medical treatment should be ensured in the presence of his personal doctors and family members.
