Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that a second phase of war was initiated against Iran due to its strong support for Hamas.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday visited the Iranian Embassy and met with Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam.
During the meeting, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and recorded his remarks in the condolence book.
In his conversation with Ambassador Reza Amiri, Fazlur Rehman said that JUI-F strongly condemns American-Israeli aggression against Iran. He added that the Zionist-European alliance first occupied Palestine, and that the region is still going through severe tension and a prolonged war.
The JUI chief stated that a second phase of war was initiated against Iran due to its strong support for Hamas. He said that baseless allegations are being levelled to justify these attacks, and that Iran is currently defending not only itself but also Palestine.
Fazlur Rehman said that the Muslim world needs unity during this critical moment. He said that JUI-F stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Iran in difficult times. He added that instead of fighting among themselves, the Muslim Ummah should confront Zionism, and described the United States as an enemy of humanity.
He further said that peace efforts led by what he called “killers and criminals” are a stain on the name of peace, and questioned the wisdom of rulers who expect peace from someone like Trump.
On the other hand, Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri appreciated the role of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and JUI-F in strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations. He said that victory will belong to the Muslim world, and added that the visit of JUI-F chief was a source of reassurance for them.
