ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The federal government has rejected all news reports as misleading and baseless making rounds on social media that Tirah Valley is being evacuated on the orders of the army and the federal government.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has clarified in a message on social media that the government has taken note of misleading news reports claiming that the Tirah Valley is being evacuated on military orders.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said that these claims are baseless, malicious and are being made for specific purposes, which aim to spread fear and panic among the public, provide false information against security agencies, and achieve personal and political interests.

The ministry clarified that no order has been issued by the federal government or the armed forces to evacuate the Tirah Valley.

According to the Ministry of Information, law enforcement agencies routinely take action against terrorists only on the basis of intelligence information, and during this, full care is taken not to affect the lives of citizens.

There is no need for any population transfer or migration for these operations, nor is anything like this being done.

The ministry said that it is also worth noting that the local population itself is expressing concern over the presence of Khawarij and wants peace and stability in Tirah.

According to the ministry, Relief, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Department of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government issued a notification on December 26, 2025, under which an amount of (reportedly Rs4 billion) has been released.

This amount has been kept in anticipation of potential, temporary and voluntary population movements from certain areas of Tirah (Bagh) to enable advance preparation and relief measures, including transport, food provision, cash assistance, and the establishment and management of temporary accommodation and registration centers.
It said document also clarified that according to the Deputy Commissioner Khyber, the proposed voluntary relocation reflects the opinions and wishes of the local population, which were revealed through a representative jirga held at the district level.

It takes into account climatic conditions, administrative facilities and other local factors and this process will be carried out without camps.
According to the ministry, any statement made to the media by the provincial government or any of its officials linking this displacement to the armed forces is completely false, fabricated and malicious.

Such statements are being made for political gain and aimed at attempting to defame the security institutions, which is very regrettable.
