ZHOB (Dunya News) - At least 16 people injured after fire broke out in a coal-laden truck and an oil tanker on the National Highway in Zhob on Thursday.

According to rescue authorities, the blaze erupted suddenly when a truck carrying coal and an oil tanker parked along the roadside caught fire. The flames spread rapidly, resulting in injuries to multiple individuals, including firefighters, drivers, and police personnel who were present at the scene.

Police officials stated that the truck and oil tanker had been parked by goods transporters along the highway when the fire broke out unexpectedly. Due to the highly flammable material, the fire intensified within minutes, causing panic in the area.

Rescue and fire brigade teams immediately rushed to the spot and started to bring the blaze under control.

Rescue officials confirmed that six of the injured sustained serious burns and were shifted to hospitals in Quetta for medical treatment, while the remaining injured were provided first aid and treatment at a local hospital in Zhob.

Local police stated that the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined. However, an investigation has been launched to ascertain whether negligence, mechanical failure, or other factors led to the incident.
