ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A district and sessions court on Thursday indicted Imaan Mazari and her husband Hadi Ali Chatha in a case related to a controversial tweet.

Judge Mohammad Afzal Majoka presided over the hearing, during which both Mazari and Chatha denied the charges brought against them.

The court has summoned all prosecution witnesses for the next hearing. Additionally, it ordered Hadi Ali Chatha to submit fresh surety bonds.

Chatha, however, expressed defiance, stating, "I will not submit any bonds. If you intend to keep me in jail for a year, do so," while Imaan Mazari responded, "If you want to arrest us, go ahead. Cancel our bail if you wish."

Mazari's lawyer, Qaiser Imam, pointed out that his clients were involved in multiple cases and had to appear in various courts, including those in Rawalpindi and the high court.

In response, Judge Afzal Majoka remarked that he had delayed the proceedings thrice at the defense's request.

The case has been adjourned until November 5.

The National Crime Control Agency (NCCIA) has registered the case against Mazari and Chatha for the controversial tweet.
