Dunya News correspondent Mukarram Khan Atif, who was shot dead in his head, has been laid to rest.

The funeral prayer of Mukarram Khan Atif was offered in Subhan Khur school ground. Provincial president of PPP-Sherpao Sikandar Sherpao, members of Tribal Union of Journalists, scores of journalists from Peshawar and people of all walks of life attended the funeral ceremony.However, no government official attended the funeral. Strict security arrangements were made on this occasion and all the people were allowed to enter into Janaz Gah after complete body search.Mukarram Khan was laid to rest in Akhwand Zafar Baba graveyard of Shabqadar.It is pertinent to mention here that Mukarram Khan was shot in the head while praying in a mosque in Shabqadar area of Mohmand Agency, near Peshawar city.The two attackers came on a motorbike, fired bullets at Atif in the mosque and escaped. He suffered bullet wounds to the head, local police officer Zahir Shah said.Atif was hit in the head and rushed to a hospital in Peshawar. The prayer leader was also injured, said district police chief Nisar Khan Marwat.
