BEIJING (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday travelled to Beijing by bullet train from Tianjin after attending the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).
At Beijing South Railway Station, he was received by Wang Hong, a member of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
Shehbaz Sharif was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
Delegation in Beijing
During his stay in the Chinese capital, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to participate in the 80th anniversary ceremony commemorating the global fight against fascism in the Second World War. The event will be attended by dignitaries and representatives from around the world.
Shehbaz Sharif is also expected to hold important bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Discussions are likely to include regional cooperation, strategic partnerships, and economic collaboration under ongoing frameworks.
Business engagements
In addition to diplomatic and ceremonial engagements, the prime minister will attend the China-Pakistan Business-to-Business Conference in Beijing. He is expected to deliver an address to the forum, highlighting Pakistan’s investment opportunities and areas for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
