DHAKA (Dunya News) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday held meetings with delegations from various Bangladeshi political parties during his visit to the Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka.

A Jamaat-e-Islami delegation led by Deputy Emir Dr Abdullah Muhammad Tahir met Ishaq Dar at the Pakistani High Commission.

The bilateral ties and regional developments were discussed in the meeting.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson, the discussions focused on strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh ties and reviewing the current political climate in the region.

Ishaq Dar also praised Jamaat-e-Islami's resilience during difficult times.

Later, a delegation of the National Citizen Party (NCP) of Bangladesh, led by Akhtar Hussain, met Ishaq Dar at the High Commission.

Ishaq Dar emphasised the need for greater interaction between the youth of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

During the discussion, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the NCP leadership’s vision for reform and social justice.

The delegation members apprised Ishaq Dar of various aspects of the countrywide political mobilisation that took place last year.

The two sides also discussed possibilities for promoting cultural exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh in the coming days.

Moreover, a delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam, also met Ishaq Dar at the High Commission.

The visit marks a significant diplomatic development as Ishaq Dar is the first Pakistani foreign minister to visit Bangladesh in 13 years.
