KASUR (Dunya News) - A high-level flood threat is looming in the River Sutlej in the Kasur region of Punjab after water level rises in the river on Friday, Dunya News reported.

According to Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the water level in the Sutlej River has risen further. In view of the potential flooding, the Deputy Commissioner and other departments have been instructed to remain on alert.

The report stated that at Ganda Singh Wala, the water level has been recorded at 20.50 feet, and the water flow at Head Ganda Singh Wala has reached up to 111,000 cusecs.

On the other hand, the rising water level in the Sutlej has affected road access to several areas, including Dhoop Sari, Nagar Aimanpura, and Masteki. Residents of villages across the river are being relocated to safer locations.

In addition, flood relief camps at Talwar Post have been activated by various departments, including Rescue teams. Livestock department camps have also been set up in different areas.
