ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A significant development has emerged in Pakistan–U.S. relations, as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is expected to visit Pakistan next month.
According to diplomatic sources, Pakistan has begun preparations for Secretary Rubio’s visit, which is likely to take place around October.
Sources say the visit will include consultations on counter-terrorism, trade, and strengthening bilateral relations. If the visit takes place, it will be Marco Rubio’s first official visit to Pakistan as U.S. Secretary of State.

The last U.S. Secretary of State to visit Pakistan was Mike Pompeo, who visited in September 2018, during the Trump administration.
It is worth noting that last month, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held an important meeting with Marco Rubio in Washington, D.C., where they discussed enhancing trade and economic ties, investment, agriculture, and cooperation in key sectors.
