LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Ministry of Religious Affairs has received over 455,000 applications from across the country for Hajj 2026 under the government scheme, according to an official statement issued on Monday.
This year, the government has rolled out two Hajj packages – a long-duration package and a short-duration package. The long-duration package will cover a stay of 38 to 42 days, while the short-duration package will range from 20 to 25 days.
To make the process easier on the pocket, the government will collect the Hajj expenses in two installments.
Applicants for the long-duration package are required to deposit Rs500,000 initially, while those opting for the short-duration package will need to deposit Rs550,000.
The second installment will be collected in November 2025.
A total quota of 119,000 pilgrims has been allocated under the government scheme, while 60,000 slots have been reserved for the private Hajj operators.
The ministry has assured that the draw of lots will be held on time, and the successful applicants will be notified promptly.
Officials have urged applicants to keep an eye out for updates and follow the official channels for further instructions.
