ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian departed for Tehran on Sunday after completing a two-day official visit to Pakistan.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar saw off the distinguished guest at Nur Khan Airbase and presented him with a commemorative photo album as a souvenir of the visit.

On the final day of his visit, President Pezeshkian had a busy schedule in Islamabad. He held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in the afternoon, during which both leaders discussed regional peace, as well as various social and trade-related matters.

The Iranian delegation signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and exchanged documents of mutual cooperation. Later, President Pezeshkian, accompanied by his delegation, participated in the Pakistan-Iran Trade Forum, where he expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by Pakistan, particularly by PM Shehbaz Sharif.

His last official engagement was a meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr. Both leaders emphasised strengthening bilateral relations in mutually beneficial sectors and held in-depth discussions on regional and global developments.

It is worth noting that President Pezeshkian began his visit from Lahore, where he paid homage at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal. In his remarks, he described Iqbal’s poetry as a beacon of guidance.
