Nawaz, PM Shehbaz's cousin laid to rest in Lahore

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The funeral prayer of Mian Shahid Shafi, cousin of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, was offered in Model Town on Sunday.

PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a large number of people attended the funeral.

The funeral prayer was led by renowned religious scholar Syed Hussain Shah.

Among the notable attendees were Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, APTMA leader Gohar Ejaz, Bilal Yasin, Amir Muqam, Mian Javed Latif, Chaudhry Sher Ali, Abid Sher Ali, Sohail Zia Butt, Umar Sohail Zia Butt, Rana Muhammad Arshad, Raheel Munir and others.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif prayed for the elevation of the departed soul's ranks in heaven and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

The deceased was later laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard near UET Lahore.

According to family sources, Shahid Shafi died in Murree after battling kidney-related complications for some time.

The news of his demise has saddened many across political and public circles. People expressed their condolences and sympathy with Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif over the loss, remembering Shahid Shafi as a humble and kind individual.
