Terrorism threat: Police on high alert in Karachi

Police in Karachi have been put on high alert in wake of expected terrorism threats.

The security agencies have informed Karachi police and IG Sindh in writing that some militants have been sent to Karachi from North Waziristan to carry out terrorism activity in the city.The militants belong to group of Tehrik-e-Talibal commander Mast Gul alias Habib Ullah.On the instructions of IG Sindh, hotels in some parts of Karachi including Maripur, Kharadar and old City areas were shut down. Al the CID, ISU and other agencies have been put on high alert to meet any untoward incident.
