MARDAN (Dunya News) – Former Jamaat-e-Islami emir Sirajul Haq has stated the deteriorating relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are disastrous for both countries.

Speaking to the media in Mardan, he said that a provincial government's jirga cannot succeed without the federal government's support, and holding negotiations with Afghanistan without the center's involvement goes against national policy.

“If a province is talking to Afghanistan today, it might negotiate with India tomorrow,” he maintained.

He also commented that "Mujhe Kyun Nikala" phrase had become popular and predicted that Shehbaz Sharif would soon be chanting it.

Siraj accused Maulana Fazlur Rehman of playing on both sides, aligning with both the government and the opposition.

He further stated that the Kurram issue is a failure of both the federal and provincial governments, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caught in between like a sandwich.

He expressed concerns over the rising lawlessness, stating that no one is willing to take responsibility, and chaos prevails everywhere.
