Lawyers to launch movement against constitutional amendment: Hamid Khan

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and senior lawyer Hamid Khan on Monday said that the lawyers will launch a countrywide movement against the 26th constitutional amendment, dunya News reported.

Talking to media outside the Supreme Court, Hamid Khan said that we [lawyers] reject this amendment and consider it unconstitutional and added that after October 25, the judiciary would work to protect itself.

He pledged to form an action committee involving members from the High Court Bar Association, Supreme Court Bar, and district courts to devise a plan of action.

Hamid Khan also demanded that the Federal Government appoint Senior Puisne Judge Mansoor Ali Shah as the Chief Justice of Pakistan starting October 26. "We will not accept anyone else as Chief Justice.
