The DIG says “rumour” was spread on social media on Oct 10 but no one filed a complaint
LAHORE (Dunya News) – DIG Operations Faisal Kamran says there is no complainant in a private college student case because it is a concocted story.
The DIG said during a news channel programme on Wednesday night that the “rumour” was spread on social media on Oct 10 but no one filed a complaint.
When police contacted the college management, they expressed ignorance and said the guard who was named as culprit was on leave and had gone to his native city Sargodha, said the police officer.
The DIG said the guard was interrogated and he expressed his ignorance about the incident.
"There has been no complainant so far. Police have checked the record of public and private hospitals but found no victim," DIG Kamran added.
“We did not find any victim, nor did students say anything about the incident,” he continued.
He said the FIA had also been investigating who was operating the social media pages.
DIG Kamran said petrol bombs were recovered from the students. Several motorcycles were burnt. Students did not want to protest but they were forced to do so.
He said videos had been sent for forensic investigation.
