The KP CM is once again is limelight
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur once again drew public attention when he smashed a window of a truck with his gun en route to Kahna rally, apparently showing his indignation over blockades impeding his speedy journey to the rally venue.
A video featuring the incident kept making rounds on social media, with interesting comments from the netizens.
“I don’t think a chief executive of a province should act like that. Such behaviour does not suit the sitting CM. What lesson he is giving to the young generation,” said a social media user.
“Gandapur is once again in action. He is really a brave man and diehard worker of Imran Khan,” a netizen said.
“He is staging drama. He deliberately started his journey late for Lahore, now putting blames on blockades. People are quite mature to understand what he is doing,” a netizen commented.
According to eyewitnesses, he angrily exited his vehicle, striking the window of a truck with his rifle to break it.
Protesters then moved the vehicle, clearing the way for the convoy to proceed towards the rally venue.
The incident occurred at a point where the local administration had sealed the road with containers.
The district administration had allowed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally until 6pm. However, convoys from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa failed to reach the venue on time.
Following orders from the Deputy Commissioner, police entered the rally site, cleared the main stage, and shut down the electricity supply, plunging the area into darkness.
