ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Parliament’s special committee session on constitutional amendment and judicial reforms has been called today.

Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Syed Khursheed Shah will chair the session of Parliament’s special committee today at sharp 2pm.

The session will revolve around discussion on suggestions pertaining to constitutional amendment and judicial reforms.

There is a possibility of floating a draft on judicial reforms in the session.

During the session, consensus would be made between the incumbent government and opposition for approval of the bill on constitutional amendment and judicial reforms.

Earlier, a special committee session was slated for 10 am at Parliament House. But the committee requested from the

National Assembly speaker to reschedule as it needed some time to consider key matters.

On the request of the special committee, the NA session had been rescheduled to 4 pm.

It is pertinent to note that National Assembly and Senate’s sessions had been called today at 4 pm to table constitutional package and constitutional amendment.

Sources said for seeking cabinet approval for the constitutional amendment, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned a meeting before the National Assembly session.

Earlier on Saturday, the ruling coalition postponed the constitutional amendment bill for a day due to the absence of two MNAs from the country.
