LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan has expressed his anger at the behavior of the opposition and sought advice from the law department as to what action should be taken against the MPAs who caused Rs27 million losses, incurred on the session, to the national exchequer.

The PA session was adjourned due to the non-participation of opposition members of the assembly.

“I will not tolerate such a criminal act of trying to deceive the House by the 61 members who marked attendance silently slipped away to participate in the boycott held by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to get TA & DA,” Khan said.

The session was called on the requisition of the opposition and was not attended by the same, the speaker said.

He said expenses of Rs27 million were incurred for a one-day meeting.

The opposition showed lack of seriousness, the speaker revealed that the opposition should not have come to block the meeting on their own request, they would have come and discussed public issues on the floor.

Also, the speaker said this was the first assembly where people were being abused by name.

He made this remark while talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly.

Khan said “a day of the meeting costs around 27 million and 60 members of the opposition attended the meeting to take TADA.”

He said he would release the list of 60 members of the opposition to the media

The speaker said that since August 2014, the PTI has been attacking the country and accused it of the only political party which has been paralyzing the Parliament.
