(Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has left Dushanbe, Tajikistan for Astana, Kazakhstan to participate in twin summits of SCO Council of Heads of State and SCO Plus, Radio Pakistan has reported.

At the SCO Council of Heads of Summit meeting, the premier will share Pakistan's perspective on important regional and global issues. He will underline the importance Pakistan attaches to regional connectivity and cooperation with SCO member countries.

The prime minister will also address the SCO Plus Summit where he would highlight the country's position on important regional and global issues.

Additionally, he will hold meetings with participating leaders on the sidelines of the summit.

PM Shehbaz is expected to meet today with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

There will be a round of trilateral talks between Pakistan, Turkiye and Azerbaijan which is expected to be attended by the prime minister.

Shehbaz will also attend a dinner hosted by the president of Kazakhstan in honour of the heads of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
