Court adjourns hearing of 190m pounds reference until June 21

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Accountability court has adjourned the hearing of 190 million pounds reference against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi until June 21.

Accountability court’s Judge Muhammad Ali Warrraich heard the 190m pounds reference today.

During the hearing, PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi appeared before the court. Salman Akram Raja, Niazullah Niazi, Ali Zafar, and Shoaib Shaheen were also present in the court.

Defendant lawyer’s cross examination have been concluded on the one witness’ statements. Four witnesses have been summoned for cross-examination in the next hearing.

In the reference, statements of 30 witnesses have been recorded and 22 witnesses’ cross-examination have been completed.

The hearing of 190m pounds reference has been adjourned until June 21.

An accountability court indicted the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in 190 million pound case – also previously known as Al-Qadir Trust case – as the judge, Nasir Javed Rana, held hearing at the Adiala jail on Feb 27.

However, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 15 approved bail of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder in the 190 million pounds reference.
