With the countdown on Eid, the prices of sacrificial animals have flown through the roof.

Eid will be celebrated in the country tomorrow and the people will sacrifice animals to follow the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS). However, the people are finding the prices of sacrificial animals in the markets beyond their reach. A majority of the people are forced to do collective sacrifice, as animal brokers are charging exorbitant prices in the markets.Animals are as expensive as Rs 25,000 minimum for an average Bakra, while the price goes up to half a million. Similarly, cows and oxes are anyway between over a hundred thousand to infinite, depending on the weight and looks of each animal.On the other hand, people are booking butchers in advance. The butchers are demanding Rs 2,000 per Bakra this Eid, a thousand up from last year.
