Rs 25 b embezzlement in NA Employees Housing Society

The Senate has taken notice of Rs 25b embezzlement in the account of Cooperative Housing Society.

A session of Senate’s Standing Committee for Interior was held under the supervision of Senator Talha Mahmood which revealed that the account of the National Assembly’s Cooperative Housing Society has only Rs 0.9 million out of Rs 250 million funds.The Committee was also told that Patwaris and the other employees of the society have been working at the same place for 15 years while, according to official rules and regulations, no employee can post on the same post more than three years. While keeping in view, the Standing Committee has sought details of such Putwaris, Tehsildars and Magistrates for further inquiry.In this regard, a special committee has been formed to probe into record of all the Housing Societies in Islamabad.
