SC committee approves seven-point policy for prioritising cases
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Saturday set priorities for its selection of cases to be given preferential treatment.
Under the leadership of Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, a three-member committee, established in accordance with the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act, 2023, approved a seven-point policy for prioritising cases based on their legal requirements.
As per this policy, tax and election dispute cases will receive priority consideration, as will pre-arrest and post-arrest bail cases.
Criminal cases with sentences of up to 10 years will be prioritised, and cases involving multiple petitions against the same decision will also be scheduled for expedited hearings.
