Removal of Ahad Cheema, Fawad Hasan Fawad and Dr Tauqir Shah sought

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hear the petition in which the removal of ‘biased’ members of federal cabinet was demanded by the petitioner.

The petitioner has sought the removal of biased members from the federal cabinet to ensure the holding of transparent elections.

The petition was filed by Advocate Syed Azizud Din Kaka Khel and the electoral watchdog will hear it on Oct 10.

The petitioner has prayed to the ECP to remove Ahad Cheema, Fawad Hasan Fawad and principal secretary to PM Dr Tauqir Shah from their posts. All three have worked closely with former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Both Cheema and Fawad are the members of incumbent caretaker cabinet while Tauqir Shah is still serving as PS to PM.

The petitioner said that the transparent elections are impossible in the presence of these persons in key offices.

“If the government wants a transparent election, these people should be removed from their positions,” the petition said.

The ECP will also hear some petitions against PTI chairman on the same day.

A petition moved by Advocate Khalid Mehmood has sought removal of the name of PTI chairman as party head from the records of ECP.

In another petition, strict action was demanded against the PTI for receiving prohibited funds from foreign countries.
