After new delimitations, 169 votes required for PM's election

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - After the issuance of new constituency delimitations, the number game for prime minister's election has also changed.
According to the Election Commission, following the new constituency delimitations, 169 votes will be required to elect the new prime minister, whereas under the previous constituency boundaries, 172 members' support was necessary to elect the prime minister.
The total number of seats in the National Assembly has now reached 266 after the general seats were increased, including 60 reserved for women. This brings the total seats in the National Assembly to 326.
It should be noted that the Election Commission has released a list of new constituency delimitations, providing complete details about the constituencies for both the national and provincial assemblies.
