Mild intensity earthquake shakes Karachi

A mild earthquake measuring 2.9 on Richter scale jolted Karachi on Thursday night.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - A low intensity earthquake jolted Karachi on Thursday night, Dunya News reported. The magnitude of the quake was recorded at 2.9 on the Richter scale.

According to National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the quake which struck on Thursday was located 10 kilometres west of Malir at the depth of 30 kilometres.

People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. However, there are no immediate reports of casualties or damages due to earthquake.
