FIA summons PTI chief's lawyer Khawaja Haris in Toshakhana case

Member of former PM’s legal team has been asked to attend FIA office at 2pm today

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – After grilling Naeem Haider Panjotha for hours, Federal Investigation Agency’s cybercrime wing has summoned another member of the PTI chairman's legal team.

Khawaja Muhammad Haris has been directed to attend the FIA office at 2 pm on Wednesday (today) in Toshakhana case.

Lawyer Panjotha, who is part of PTI chief's legal team, was summoned yesterday (Tuesday) at 10 am on the issue of posts of Judge Humayun Dilawar. After which he was allowed to go home.

Due to long interrogation from Panjotha by FIA at its office in Islamabad, fellow lawyers expressed fear that Panjotha had been arrested. Soon after that news of Panjotha's detention started circulating on electronic and social media. However, the FIA denied that he had been arrested.

After questioning lawyer Panjotha, the key member of former prime minister's legal team Khawaja Muhammad Haris advocate has also been summoned by FIA cybercrime cell.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar who handed down a sentence to former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief on charges of concealing assets and corrupt practices, remains enrolled in the University of Hull's programme, confirmed a university official.

Reports have been doing rounds on social media, suggesting that the Pakistani judge's participation had been terminated due to an online campaign by the former ruling party.
