Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir preside over meeting

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee on Monday announced that Eidul Azha would be celebrated on June 29 (Thursday) across the country.

It came as the committee had convened a meeting for sighting the crescent of Zilhaj at the Pakistan Meteorological Department in Karachi on Monday. According to Radio Pakistan, committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting.

Moreover, the meetings of zonal/district committees were also held at their respective headquarters at the same date and time.

According to the Climate Data Processing Center (CDPC), Zilhaj moon was likely to be seen in Pakistan on June 19 and Eidul Azha might fall on June 29 (Thursday).

The CDPC report says the Ziljhaj moon would be born on June 18 at 9.37pm. It is highly likely that Zilhaj would begin on June 20, while saying the final decision would be taken by the committee.
