Conservative Party MPs had a zoom call scheduled with Imran Khan that he could not join
LONDON (Web Desk) – British MPs on Saturday expressed anger and disappointment over not being able to speak to the PTI chairman as his internet connection was reportedly cut off ahead of a Zoom meeting with them.
Conservative Party (one of the two main political parties in the UK) MPs had a zoom call scheduled with Imran Khan that he could not join due to the unsettling internet situation.
One of the meeting participants, Azeem Ibrahim, told a media outlet that the MPs were “angry and annoyed” over being prevented from speaking to Imran Khan.
“The initiative was taken by Lord Daniel Hannan who is very thoroughly interested in Pakistan and has met Imran Khan during his visits there,” said Mr Ibrahim.
He said the Zoom call was arranged with former adviser Zulfi Bukhari’s help and the idea was to get a briefing directly from Imran Khan on what is happening, but in the meeting Mr Bukhari informed that Mr Khan’s internet had been cut around 6pm and he won’t be able to join.
Later in a tweet, the MP for Hyndburn and Haslingden, Sara Britcliffe, shared a screenshot of the Zoom meeting with Mr Bukhari and expressed displeasure.
She said, “Mr Khan was set to join the call when, without warning, Pakistan’s telecoms authorities cut off internet connections to his compound”.
She further voiced concern about the economic and political situation of Pakistan and also stressed on the release of political prisoners and protection of journalists.

“I’m extremely concerned by the deteriorating economic, political and security situation. My colleagues are calling for the release of political prisoners, protection of journalists, and free and fair elections,” she stated.
