Pakistan has strongly objected to cross-border attacks by Afghan militants. The United States have launched numerous drone attacks in the area in the recent months. Independent reports says many innocent civilians have been killed in the strikes.US officials, in a flurry of rhetoric, have accused Pakistan of maintaining links with militants (Haqqani group), with Pakistan launching a counter salvo.
